W. Croft: Violin Sonata in B Minor

Prepared from the John Walsh publication, where this is “Sonata Quinta”:
The usual caveats for a John Walsh score apply. The engraving quality is unusually good and the musical text has few errors. The figures, however, are best described as “sketchy”. They have been copied here as present in the publication with the exception of obvious errors; one has the impression that the person involved in engraving the figures was not familiar with figured bass. The positioning of the figures is particularly bad, and there are a few eighth rests added at the last minute that almost exactly resemble a 7 figure. Note also that the clefs in e.g. 2nd system, mm.5 are actually tenor clefs (not alto) with e# instead of f#.
- I, mm.25: Rhythm is dotted eighth, sixteenth.
- I, mm.30:
5#figure has been corrected to3#. - IV: Repeats added to both sections.
